4 Stars

Saving Dallas is a Great debut novel. The first thing that caught my attention was the cover, Hot!!! Then I notice it was about an MC, so I had to read it. Best decision of the day.
Dallas Knox is a real state CEO. She is a self centered bitch and always used to getting what she wants. She soon finds out that her charm, looks and money are not enough for her boyfriend Jeff, when she finds him in bed with a woman that she considers inferior to her. After  a 3 month dry spell and high hopes for a damsel and distress moment, that will bring her ex to her rescue, she decides to go out for drinks and find herself a one night stand.  What she finds is a grabby cowboy and herself flat on her ass and a possible concussion. She finally gets her moment except that she gets rescued by none other than a “Sex in Leather” biker and his goon squad.
Luke Carmical is the Devils Renegade MC Prez and successful business man. One minute he is a gentle and loving man and the next he is a bad ass biker, an alpha male to Dallas submissive tendencies. He wants to take things slow and do right by her. But they both are use to always being in control which in returns has them challenging each other.
As the story progresses  Dallas finds out that her damsel in distress moments are never ending and is not sure who she can trust. Luke has fallen for Dallas and finds himself with secrets of his own and not sure how to tell her the truth. As secrets are revealed, everything that they have been trying to hold together falls apart as a rival MC comes into the picture.
Overall this is a very good book. I was content on how it ended even though it was sort of a cliffhanger.  Lucky for me I don’t have to wait for the next installment, Making the Cut (Saving Dallas #2).

Our Review
5 Stars

Making the Cut is such an awesome read! Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. It doesn’t only continue with Dallas story but it also includes Luke’s and Red’s POV. I loved Luke in the first book, and I love him even more now.
This book begins 2 days after the first one ended. Dallas is feeling out of place and now has to deal with nightmares and paranoia after Frankie’s attack.  As her questions are answered, new secrets are revealed and new lies are uncovered. All along she thought that the MC was becoming her family only to find out that they were not there out of their own free will, leaving her once again doubting her place in the MC. Luke wants Dallas to make his lifestyle hers. He will not force his life onto her, he wants her to earn it and accept it as hers. As the MC lifestyle takes a turn for the worst Dallas and Luke’s love is tested, ultimatums are given and sacrifices are made.
Kim Jones took this book to a whole new level. It kept me at the edge of my seat. I was so wrapped up in the characters that I found myself happy during the good times and my heart aching during the bad. I love this series and I am anxiously waiting to know what Kim has in stored for us in Saving Dallas Forever.

Excerpt
MAKING THE CUT

“Sit up, Dallas,” he said to me, his voice feral and full of need. I rose to my knees, rubbing my eyes trying to wake myself up. “You are so beautiful. Especially like this; sleepy and obedient, yet stubborn and defiant. You knew when you put that on that I couldn’t resist you.”
I looked over at him. I knew my eyes were full of need and my body most definitely was. My nipples had hardened from just looking at him and I could feel the dampness between my thighs. Luke moved behind me in the bed, placed one hand on my hip then gently pushed me between my shoulder blades, urging me down with the other. My face was turned sideways on the pillow, once again, but my ass was in the air and at his mercy. I could feel the excitement building inside of me, mixed with a little nervousness and anxiety.
“You have the most beautiful ass, baby,” Luke said as he leaned down over me, pressing his lips to the small of my back and sliding his hands under my panties and over the cheeks of my ass. He moved his hands, taking my panties with him and pulled them down my legs, kissing the backs of my thighs as he went. My body was shuddering with excitement and the feel of his lips on my tender skin. His hands ran up my legs; over my calves and thighs to my ass, then up my back until they fisted in my hair. I could feel his long, hard length pressed up against me and I pushed back, anxious for him to be inside me.
“You want this, baby?” He was back to the endearments and it thrilled me.
“Yes,” I breathed, trying to sit up so I could put my hands on him. I needed to feel him. I wanted to runs my hands over his muscles and put my lips all over his body. The need was so intense that I actually whimpered. Luke kept a firm hold on my hair, not letting me move.
“Oh, no baby. You are going to lay there and take everything I give you.”  His voice was like silk, sliding over me. “Stay where you are and don’t move. I love looking at you in this position.”
It was almost embarrassing to me, my ass in the air baring it all for him to see, but Luke had a way of making me feel sexy and wanted and the thought of him enjoying looking at me like this was so overwhelming, that I shivered with excitement. Luke’s hands left my hair and he trailed one finger down my spine to that forbidden place that made me tense, the minute he touched it. He trailed further down, sinking two fingers into my wetness.
“Fuck, baby. You are so wet.”
I couldn’t see his face, but I was sure he was wearing that dark look I loved so much, with his lips slightly parted. He moved his fingers back up, spreading the dampness from between my legs. I tensed as he put pressure there and he immediately stopped.
“Relax, babe. I ain’tgonna hurt you. I told you, you would thank me for this.” I stilled completely at his words. Oh, no. No way was that huge cock of his getting anywhere near my ass.
“No, Luke. I-I can’t,” I stuttered, trying to sit up. Luke placed his hand between my shoulder blades to keep me down.
“Hush, Dallas. Trust me,” He said soothingly. Of course I trusted him, but it didn’t make it any easier. He positioned himself against the center of me that was now throbbing for attention. He entered me in one swift motion and the air was taken from my lungs.
“Ah!” I said loudly. Shit, that was deep.
“Shut up.”
At Luke’s words, I felt myself tighten around him and my body heated. I loved it when he talked to me like that, but two could play at that game. If I couldn’t talk, the muscles in my soaking wet core that he was buried in, most definitely would. I heard him suck air between his teeth as he pulled out slowly, then slammed into me again. It was too much and not enough. He was killing me, yet I never felt more alive than when he was in me. Luke began to fuck me slowly, placing his hands on my ass and spreading me open. It felt so good as he pounded into me over and over, talking to me in that silky, bedroom voice of his. I felt the familiar rush of ecstasy as began to fuck me harder, pushing me over the edge, but never slowing, even after my body seemed to sink further into the mattress. Luke’s fingers once again found the spot he so desired, and without hesitation, slipped his finger through the tight barrier, while still milking my orgasm from me by sliding his thickness in and out of my drenched pussy.
“Baby, you feel so good. I love how sweet you smell. Tell me whose pussy this is, Dallas.” He demanded, working his finger and his cock faster, in and out of me. The sensation was so much that I didn’t have the energy to answer him. Instead, I came. I felt the muscles in both places, constricting as he drove in and out of me.  His finger left me, and the feeling was more foreign without him there than it was when he was inside me. He gripped my hips, driving into me mercilessly, and I thought, in that moment, that if he didn’t stop, I would die. I had no control over my body. Luke was holding my hips with his tireless arms. Every muscle I had was like jelly and just breathing was a chore. Luke took full advantage of my relaxed state as he slammed me back onto him over and over and over. This was definitely a punishment fuck and I wasn’t gonna make it. I was quite sure that he knew that too and that was exactly why he was doing it.
“Tell me who you belong to, Dallas,” he growled from behind me.
“You,” I managed to squeak, my face muffled by the pillow and the growing throb between my legs, affecting my speech. Luke reached around and began rubbing my clit. The cluster of nerves was so sensitive, that it was almost painful.
“That’s right, baby. You are mine.”
Luke increased the movement of his fingers, rubbing furiously against my clit and my dead limbs began to jerk.
“Come for me,” he demanded in a whisper, and I exploded around him. Luke drove deep one last time and collapsed on top of me. I could feel the mixture of our wetness beginning to slide down my legs. I remember Luke leaving and then returning, placing something cool between my legs, then covering me and turning out the light. I also remember the sound of the door closing behind him as he left the room.

ALTERNATE POV
MARTY-MAKING THE CUT

“Now, put this on and I’ll come back to check on you in about fifteen minutes. I know it hurts, but remember to take deep breaths.” I eyed the tits in front of my face as my sweet nurse, Ashton coached me through my breathing treatments. I had no idea what her face looked like, because I couldn’t take my eyes off of her chest. Even through the pale, blue scrubs she wore, I knew she had to be at least a D cup. I was such a pig. I nodded my head in her direction and mentally prepared myself for the pain that was sure to come. I took my first deep breath as the warm steam engulfed my face. Sweat formed on my head as I endured the pain while air filled my lungs. I gripped the sheet beneath me and let anger take the place of pain as the memories of what happened filled my head.
Dallas’ house was dark. The only light came from the starry sky above and the flaming cherry at the end of my cigarette. I hated to see her drive home in the state she was in, but I was not in any position to do anything about it. I was still prospecting and I had to follow orders as they were given to me. I knew Luke loved her, but there seemed to be a lot of shit going on that I wasn’t aware of. I flicked the cherry from the end of my cigarette and placed the butt in the pocket of my cut as I had been taught to do. Never leave anything with your DNA anywhere. Even something as simple as throwing down a cigarette could get your ass charged with something you didn’t do. My head snapped up as I heard the rumble of bikes in the distance. I checked my phone to see if maybe Luke had texted telling me he was on his way. Nothing. I dialed his number and the sound of fear in his voice gave me a chill. I knew what he was going through. No felling was worse than that of knowing the one you loved was in danger. I jumped on my bike and headed towards the sound of the approaching bikes.
I was pulled out of my daydream when the door to my room opened and Luke walked in with Dallas on his heels. Damn, she was beautiful. Even in a simple shirt and jeans, she took my breath away. I wish I would have found her before Luke. Fuck, he was a lucky man. I held my hand up to her asking silently for her to give me a minute while I finished the treatment that would probably kill me before it saved me. I watched as her big, green eyes took in my battered body and I knew that she blamed herself. I watched as she pulled the big shirt Luke handed her over her head and inhaled his scent. Her eyes closed and it was as if just the smell of him pleased her. What I would give to be loved by a woman like that. I had that once. I inhaled deeper letting the thoughts of my deceased love be replaced with the excruciating pain of my lungs expanding.
Ashton appeared suddenly. For the first time, I actually noticed her pretty face and sparkling blue eyes. I checked her hand for a ring as she spoke to me and decided that I would get her number before I left. It would be nice to have some female company for once. I loved my brothers, but there was only so much male sweat, stench and ego a man could take.
“If yall need anything just hit the call button.” Ashton shot me a smile then left the room.
“I should have said I needed a sponge bath.” I said, mostly to myself. I looked over to see Dallas’ eyes filled with tears as she sat next to me.
“I’m so sorry.” She said, her tears now flowing down her pretty face. My heart seemed to take a nose dive as I watched her struggle to keep her composure. How in the hell did Luke handle her tears? Hell, she wasn’t even mine and she was killing me.
“Don’t.” I said, letting my big hand cover hers. I heard Luke say something about giving us a minute, but I couldn’t tear my eyes away from hers. She needed to know this wasn’t her fault. “I want to tell you a story,” I said, holding her hand. I watched as she nodded her head, wiping her face on her sleeves. “When I was twenty-three, I met this girl. She was beautiful, smart, kind, sweet… Everything I would want in a woman. I was nothing but a thug. I worked in a mechanic shop and hustled a little on the side, but she loved me. She was my good. My better. She deserved a life of happiness, one that I couldn’t give to her. I knew I would never be more than what I am, a man with grease on his best jeans and a Harley. I never thought to ask her what she wanted. I just pushed her away, assuming what I was doing was best for her. I broke her heart.” I hated talking about her. I hated the way it made me feel. Thinking of her put me in a dark place and that was not somewhere I needed to be right now, but Dallas needed me to share this with her. I was the only way to make her understand that this was in no way her fault. “What I done was selfish and un-fair. I should have asked her what she wanted.  See, material items didn’t matter to her. She deserved a life of happiness and she had it, with me. No one could love her like I loved her. She came looking for me. She was hurt and scared and confused as to why I just stopped answering her calls and hanging around. I use to hustle on Friday nights in a bad area of town and out of desperation she went there looking for me. She was shot, twice in the chest by a group of gang bangers who mistook her for someone else. I have re-worked the scene a million times in my head wondering what-if.  I asked God every day to give me an opportunity to make it up and he did when he gave me you. He gave me a chance to save someone to make up for the life that was lost on my behalf.”  I smiled. Remembering that Dallas was just as much my saving grace as I was hers. “Dallas, I should be thanking you. You saved me. I know that things are not where they should be with you and Luke, but don’t make the same mistake I did. When God gives you an opportunity, embrace it. He loves you, Dallas. Let him.” As the realization of my words sunk in, I saw that the internal fight Dallas had going on was won in Luke’s favor. If she didn’t let him love her before, she most definitely would now.

“Thank you.” She said to me, leaning over and kissing my head. I inhaled her sweet scent and let it take me away for just a moment.

“PROSECT!” Leave it to Luke to fuck up a good moment. I looked over at him to see that fucking smirk I hated so much as he stood in the doorway. “I will be happy to add another year if you don’t get your hands off my girl.”
Asshole.
“I couldn’t help it, Pres. She’s beautiful.”  I said honestly.
“That, she is.” Damn Luke and his lucky ass.
“Okay, enough with all this sappy shit. What are you, a pig?  Look at this place.” I watched as Dallas began cleaning my nasty ass room and couldn’t help but laugh. Big mistake. I held my side, trying hard to control my mouth from cussing and my eyes from crying.
“You okay?” Dallas asked running to my side.
“Stop babying him. You’ll turn him into a pussy,” Fucking Tiny.
“Pussy? Did someone say pussy?” Fucking Buck.
“Quit talking about pussy,” Fucking Crash. I hated them all. “I haven’t had any in a week.”
“Is that why you had you were holding hands with my girl?” Luke asked. I looked up confused as Crash looked like he wanted to die. My fists clenched at my sides at the thought of Crash putting his hands on Dallas. “I mean, if you think you can compete, then by all means.”  I had never wanted to slap my President, until this moment. I knew what kind of dog Crash was. “Babe. I’m just kidding.” Luke said to Dallas. I looked to see her glaring at him and the thought made me happier than it should have. Dallas began adjusting my pillows and I almost sacrificed her to Crash myself.
“You need to rest,” She said, leaning down to whisper quietly in my ear.
“Okay, guys,” She announced to the room that immediately grew quiet at the sound of her voice. “Marty has had a long day. I think we should let him rest.” Lord, please tell me she did not just say that. I looked to Luke pleadingly. Maybe he would just take this one on the chin and not let his pride get in the way. We wouldn’t thing any less of him.
“Well, y’all heard the lady. Let’s give Marty some time to rest. Buck, you and Crash stay close. No further than the lobby.”
I sighed in relief as my brothers took turns hugging me and telling me goodbye. Dallas hugged me, promising she would see me tomorrow and I wanted to kick myself at how much I anticipated her arrival. I assured her that I was fine and would see her tomorrow. Without warning, she leaned over and kissed my cheek. I felt the blood rush to my face. I, PROSPECT MARTY, had just been embarrassed by a five foot four woman.
“I love you, brother. I’ll see you later.” Luke said, hugging me.
“I love you too, brother.” There was no shame in confessing my love for the man that had saved my life. I watched as they left the room, wishing I could go with them. I sighed in defeat as I hit the call button and listened as Ashton’s sweet voice filled my room.

“Yes, ma’am. I am feeling a little dirty. Is it time for my bath?”
