Cover Reveal: Accepted Fate by Charisse Reid

Accepted Fate Cover
What do you do when everything you had planned out for yourself gets changed in one summer? Do you embrace the new or fight to keep things the same?
For seventeen year old Kinzleigh everything was going just as she always planned. She had great friends, went to a school she loved, and always knew she was destined for greatness. One step already completed towards acquiring the job she has forever dreamed of, a pro football cheerleader. Nothing and no one was going to stand in her way, especially not love. What she doesn't expect is for her parents to suddenly change everything and send her spiraling into a life she didn't want for herself, especially after meeting one blue eyed boy she can't stop dreaming about. Her life is changing at every turn. She is learning that sometimes life has different plans than our own. When she finally accepts the hand fate has dealt, everything is ripped from her once again.

Can she accept the ugly fate that was chosen for her or will she fight to once again accept it.
I finally reach the end and sit, placing my legs over the side, but because of my height they do not reach the water. The night begins to replay through my thoughts. I can't believe everything I've worked so hard for is crashing down around me. Being squad captain of one of the top 5 squads in the country guaranteed me a spot on almost any college in the country. Even if this Hicksville
town, Mississippi has a cheer leading squad, will they even have room for another cheerleader? Do they even compete? Now, I'm going to have to work harder just to get a tryout at the colleges I'm interested in.

Why would my parents just pick up and move us when I have one year of high school left? How do they expect me to just leave everything I know behind and start over? I have friends here, family, that has to mean something to them.

This isn't fair. Maybe I can think of a way to stay behind. I just have to. My parents have got to understand what this will do to me. I just want to wake up and realize this is all a dream. All I can do is stare out at the ocean, lost in thought.

All of my emotions finally catch up to me and the tears start to fall, heavier this time. I can't stop them anymore. I don't know what to do. Everything was going great in my life and now the misery is about to begin. I don't even try to wipe the tears away anymore, I just let them flow. I don't understand out of all the states in the continental U.S., why my parents have to choose some po-dunk
town in Mississippi. I can't imagine the kind of people that reside there. After that big hurricane, Katrina I think, they had people walking around barefooted and missing teeth. Do they even have shopping malls and designer clothes, I wonder, or is it full of trailer parks and cow fields. My stomach turns at the thought. I'm not sure how long I've been sitting there, staring at the water, but my
back is beginning to hurt and I'm growing tired from crying, but the tears continue to fall. I should just go home and go to bed, but I'm not ready to face my parents yet. I lay back against the pier, looking into the sky. Its dark, but the sky is clear.
There is not a cloud for miles. It's beautiful glancing out at all the stars, shining brightly. It's also a full moon tonight. A strange peacefulness begins to wash over me, causing me to close my eyes. Clearly my mind is not in normal territory, because I would never close my eyes late at night on a public beach. There are too many creeps out there.

I couldn't have been laying there but what seemed like a few minutes. I must have dozed off when, "Mind if I join you," flows through my ears in a deep, raspy voice. My eyes pop open and a tall familiar face is standing over me, looking down, with a smile on his face.

I begin to panic and sit up in a hurry, embarrassed. Embarrassment is a rare trait for me and this guy has brought it out twice in one day. "I'm sorry, I don't usually do this, it's been a bad night." I look back out at the water, gripping the side of the pier, as if the most beautiful boy isn't standing behind me. Right then, I can feel his breathing on the back of my neck, quickening my heart rate. In the
short time, he has managed to squat behind me, the inside of each knee resting against my side.

He begins to whisper in my ear, "May I keep you company for a while? I'll be quiet if that's what you need." His breath is so light, it tickles my ear. I can barely breath, let alone speak, so I just nod. My head is fuzzy and I can't think when he's this close.

He sits beside me and removes his shoes, placing his feet in the water. I'm finally able to exhale the breath I've been holding. "How long have you been here?" I turn and glance at him, to find that he's staring at me. I don't know where this guy is from, I don't really care, but he's gorgeous. I never take an interest in a guy, it's one of my few rules, but following rules have gotten me nowhere, obviously. I'm not thinking clearly anyway, I guess I can break my rule and enjoy his company for a while. He is leaving soon anyway and right now I need a distraction from all this bad news.

He reaches out slowly, as if he's afraid I'll run away, placing his hand over my cheek, rubbing his thumb underneath my eye, freeing it from the wetness of the tears. Great, I have no idea what I look like right now. "I needed to clear my head and came to the beach, I saw you standing by the water earlier, are you okay?"

My eyes close at the warmth from his hand. I should be mad he followed me, but I can't. I just want him near me, but no personal questions. I don't need him to know me or what makes me tick. I don't need any complications. I open my eyes to him staring at my lips. "Can we just exist together without trying to obtain personal quota? Let's just enjoy casual company, two people needing nothing from each other. Clearly you're not from here, meaning you'll be gone soon. I'm not one of those girls that needs or wants to know everything about you nor do I want to spill my entire life to you. We don't have to pretend with each other, lets call this what it is. Can you do that?"

He just stares at me as if he's trying to figure me out, like I'm a book full of secrets. He seems lost in my eyes, amused, confused, I don't know. We sit there staring at each other as if we can't pull away. He doesn't say anything, just bites his lip as if he's trying to answer his own question, or to make a decision. I'm about to get up and walk away, when his other hand reaches behind my neck, pulling me closer. His lips stop in front of mine, close enough to touch, when he whispers, "Beautiful," and crashes his lips to mine.

His lips are so soft and full, but needy. His warm tongue slips through the opening of my lips, requesting entry. Our tongues taste, touch, and dance together. A moan, barely more than a whisper, escapes my lips. I run my hands across his arms and up his neck, into the back of his hair. My heart is beating wildly. Foreign emotions are running through my body. I have never felt this need
before, but it's as if my body needs more. Suddenly, I feel like I need to cross my legs from the spasms down below. What is he doing to me? What does this mean? He turns, laying me against the pier. He has one hand on my waist, the other beside my head, holding his weight above me, like when we were at the beach. He continues to kiss me, taking my bottom lip into his mouth, lightly
sucking. He makes a low growling sound from his throat. I'm not sure why until I feel his need pressed against the bottom of my belly, making my eyes go wide from surprise. Oh no, I can't go there. As if he can sense my panic, he stops. He kisses me one last time softly and releases my lips.

He looks me in the eyes, a smile growing across his face. He brushes his fingers through my hair, down my arm and grabs me by the hand, interlacing his fingers with mine. "Nothing personal huh, I think I can do that." His lips brush mine quickly before he moves back to his spot of the pier, pulling me by my hand to sit between his legs. "I promise I'll be good for the rest of the night. I've just
wanted to do that all day."

I'm completely and utterly speechless. I have no idea what I'm doing. I never do reckless or unplanned things like this. I have no idea who this guy is, really, and now I'm sitting on the pier making out with him. I really need to get my head back in the game. I always think everything through before I make a decision. Being around him takes away my ability to process. Right now there are
so many unknowns, but what I do know is that I'm not ready for it to end just yet.

Blog Tour + Review/Giveaway: Your Exception by Bria Starr

Author: Bria Starr
Book Title: Your Exception
Genre: New Adult/Romance
Blog Tour Manager: Brandee’s Book Endings

Logan Kalford was Wren Summers’ dream come true.
All I’d ever wanted was to fall in love and be loved in return.
Logan stole my heart when I least expected it. He was sexy, adventurous, and the way he played guitar left me weak in the knees. He made me happy. He made me think I’d found the one.
And he made me believe in happy endings.
I knew he was my forever. I thought he knew it too.
I was wrong.
He destroyed everything I thought we had and shattered my dreams of us. He left me heartbroken. He made me doubt myself.
And he didn’t even seem to care…
Now I must let go. But how can I when he still consumes me?
How do you walk away from what you know was real?

After reading the synopsis I was intrigued. It started off kind of slow for my liking but half way thru it definitely picked up.
Wren breaks up with her boyfriend, after 3 years, when she finds out that he is cheating on her with friend. Cheating is unforgivable in her book so she doesn’t hesitate and is adamant to move on. A local band gets hired to play for the night on the Bar that she works at, and she meets Logan. They get in to a relationship pretty quickly. As quickly as it starts it all falls apart when Logan realizes that he is not ready for a relationship, leaving Wren heartbroken. Once again her friends, Cassidy and Zack, are there to help her.
Zack works for her father and is also in a band. He is this great guy, very attentive, always doing and saying the right thing. He is always there protecting her and wants her to be happy. It is very obvious that he has feelings for Wren, yet she is the only one that can’t see it.
I have to admit that I was irritated with Wren for more than half of time. She claimed that she would move on and yet she kept going back to Logan.  I didn’t care much for her ex-boyfriend Alec, not sure why any time was spent on him, but whatever. The best part was Logan’s POV; I would have loved having it earlier on and more of it as well. Now Zach, what can I say that I did not say already? He is perfect, so perfect that I am claiming him as MINE!!!
Overall it was a good debut novel. I look forward to see what Bria Starr has in store for us next. Hopefully a book 2 for the one that was left behind???

Dark Erotic Romance
Release Date: February 19, 2014

My uncle raped me.

I was 10 years old when it started.

At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop.

At 16 I was ready to kill him.

Today, I’m broken.

Today, I only breathe to survive.

My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.
“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.”

Oh, Master.

Yes, Master Cover

“It’s just such a difficult situation.”

“Of course it’s difficult.” She stops talking and taps her fingernails again. My eyes go to where she’s tapping, and then follow up to her face. I try to avoid her abrasive orbs. “You’re overpowered by agony and torment, and it’s slowly claiming you day by day.”

I finally concede and look into Stella's eyes. Because every word she’s said, and every sentence that she’s breathed out has been so accurate about me.

“Freedom,” she says as I intake a huge gulp of air at that word. “I can promise you freedom if you can promise me you’ll never lie to me.”

I want it. I think I may even deserve my very own happily ever after. Are they real? According to movies and books they’re attainable. But this isn’t a movie, or even a fucking book.

This is my life.

And I’m going to try to get it.

“No lies, ever,” I whisper.

I don't do 'normal'.

I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader.
I take the normal and switch it around.
For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be.
I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different.
My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre.
My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second.
I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is!
I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come.....
Til next time.

Elle has made some decisions that broke her family apart. She leaves New York and moves to Miami. She is determined to start all over where nobody knows who she is and what she has done. With the help of an old family friend she gets a job as an economic teacher in a private school where she meets Luke Poulos.
Initially Elle meets Luke at the faculty party. There is an immediate attraction between them. She assumed he was the musician. The next day she finds out that he is not only a teacher by he is also assigned as her mentor. They seem to hit it off right away but Elle is hesitant and refuses to let him get too close. She is afraid he might find out who she really is. He never puts any pressure on her to divulge more that she is willing to give. He is patient, sweet, and very understanding while trying to break down the walls that she has put up. But Luke has secrets of his own. Unfortunately Elle gets a glimpse of it before he is able to explain it to her.

Sweet nothing is a short and easy read. I felt that the story was rushed. It made Elle and Luke’s relationship progress too fast making it hard to form any type of connection with their characters. I have to admit that Luke’s character has potential to become our next fictional boyfriend. I’m looking forward to what Mia has in store for her book since she sort of left us with a cliffhanger.

Not to stray from the common Author cliché, I loved to read as a child – I actually excelled in reading from a young age.  This was definitely to my advantage.  In saying that I only enjoyed reading “happily ever after stories.”

As I grew older my pleasures turned to “teen romance stories” with the obvious transition being heavy love stories and of course Jackie Collins’ novels.

Then due to relationship and work commitments my reading all but ceased until my children were at an age where I could steal and hour or two (which then became and hour or four).

A few years ago I discovered the
Twilight Saga, this kept my thoroughly entertained for years as I read and
re-read numerous times… Enter 50 Shades.

Whilst I was a little fearful to read this erotic tale, something tugged at my inner thoughts and I succumbed, like everyone around me falling for the likes of one Christian Grey.

I continued from that moment reading many many stories and getting involved with Indie Authors from around the globe– something then happened to me.  I awoke
one Saturday morning with a whole story fixed in my mind.  This had happened to me a lot over the years but this story was so clear and concise and I acted on in with the inspiration of the Indie Authors.

That’s when my first novel Majestic Pearls was born – it has grown from there and is a beautifully work in progress.  In the interim, I wrote my current story, a novella entitled Que Sera Sera.

When I'm not at my desk, I'm reading– beta reading, or just plain reading. As a full time mother and wife my life is very full.  My other passion, other than writing and
family is Music … music from yesteryear is my genre.

Blog Tour + Review: Thorneless by Mia Michelle

I hate him..I love him..I hate that I still love him but I do. My parents, my life, my happiness, my heart….he has officially taken all of them from me now. Yes, I am the wilting dying Rose that once belonged to Sebastian Thorne. He had given me back my life, but little did I know he was the very one who had taken it all away from me from the start. I hate him…I love him.

I never expected Lucas Drake to walk back in my life when I was at my lowest and darkest point. He promises that he will help me heal this pain, but in order to do that he says I need to get away from this town. Maybe he is right. There is nothing here for me anymore but painful memories…and Sebastian. Maybe the only way for this Rose to survive is to do the one impossible thing. I Skylar Rose… must become Thorneless.

Our Review:
5 stars
No no no no noooo!!! The words going through my mind as I finished reading this book! The wait seemed endless and Thorneless did not disappoint.

We are reunited with Skylar as she deals with her heartbreak. She is completely an utterly broken because of the secret Sebastian kept from her the problem is that no matter how much she feels she hates him for what he has done she can't help but love him and who can honestly blame her? How can anyone not love Sebastian Thorne? Well there's one person who finds it very easy to not love him and that is Lucas Drake.

Lucas very conveniently comes back into the picture while Skylar is broken hearted and plays the true friend card in order to sweep Skylar away around the world under the role of his new assistant. For months he and Skylar travel the world all the while Lucas uses his charm to get closer to Skylar.

While Skylar is off with Lucas getting closer and closer to him our poor Sebastian is completely broken. He spends as much time away from home as possible and isolates himself with the exception of his business dealings. His heart just doesn't know how to go on without Skylar.
No matter how close Skylar gets to Lucas or how broken Sebastian is their love remains in tact. The intensity of said love and their passion for one another has not diminished in the slightest and as always their draw to each other is inescapable.

After a few unforeseen events Skylar does the unthinkable and completely shatters what is left of Sebastian's heart leading to an event that had me in TEARS!! The heartbreak, confusion, empathy, anger, and quite honestly terror I felt while reading this book is amazing.

These characters just completely take over and your heart is on the line just as much as Sebastian and Skylar's. As with most awesome books we are left with a horrible cliff hanger!! Mia Michelle did soften the blow a bit but not nearly enough to stop my heart from aching. Thorneless was spectacular and I can't wait for Rose In Bloom my heart needs so much more of Sebastian!

Brushing back the hair from her face, I can’t help but feel the tugging it causes in my chest. She’s my broken angel right now and I will give anything to take away all her pain.  I worry that Sebastian had shattered everything inside of her when he broke her heart.  Because of him, I don’t know if she’ll ever be able to love again.
What had he done that’s so unforgivable? Had he cheated on her? Had he lied to her about something?  I know he would never lay on a hand on her, but if I find that to be the reason, I’ll fucking kill him.  It just pisses me off that here I am looking at the shell of what once was the most loving, beautiful soul I have ever known.  He did this to her and for that, I’ll never forgive him.
Yes, right now my gorgeous girl is lost, but I’ll help her find herself.  She’ll learn to laugh and love again.  I just pray that when she finally does, it’s me that she’s loving in the end.

Mia fell in love with the literary world at a very young age and began putting her active imagination to pen and paper by the age of six. Twelve years ago, Mia began drafting The Thorne Series and through encouragement of a close friend, decided to finally take the leap of faith to bring her dream to life. In her spare time (“What spare time?” She laughs), she enjoys photography, traveling, and having a girls night out with her pals. She enjoys the simple things in life, such as sleeping more than 3 hours per night and 10 minute showers without being interrupted by children yelling “mommy” from the other side of the bathroom door.

Blog Tour + Review: Shuttered Affections by Rene Folsom

Title: Shuttered Affections
Author: Rene Folsom
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publication Date: October 15, 2013

After escaping to a college town, Juliana Petersen was determined to put her troubled past behind her and make the most of life. She was satisfied with her current situation, or so she thought. It wasn’t until the day her new photography professor stole her parking spot that she realized there was such thing as lust at first sight. Now, she must struggle with the decision to break the rules and fall in love, or step back and let the chance of a lifetime pass her by—all while her past relationships come back to haunt her.

How many men will it take to break Julia’s hold on reality?

Warning: This novel contains sexual situations and is meant for adult readers ages 18 and up.

Our Review:
4 Stars
Shuttered affections, I started off confused with the name of the book I didn't understand the title but I kept an open mind. Once I realized it was a sexy student teacher romance I couldn't wait to get to it.
Juliana is driving around a packed parking lot trying to find parking. She finally manages to find a spot when some jerk in a tiny car steals it and just shrugs her off when she yells at him. No way could she have imagined that the good looking jerk and her would soon meet again. After driving around again she finds a new spot but she is now late for class. She walks in to class only to realize that the jerk who stole her parking spot is standing in front of her class scolding her for being late. At this point I could practically see the sparks flying and I could feel the sexual tension between these two.

Aiden is the replacing Juliana's photography professor, yes ladies we have a hot new professor who might be "double" the trouble. Right from the get go we can see the attraction he and Juliana feel towards each other although they both know it is wrong they can't help the need they have to be around each other. Both characters have deep dark secrets that could ruin the relation they are building. Once their secrets are reviled all that's left is for Aiden to help Juliana heal, or so we think. Juliana's past is still chasing her and not only threatening her but all the ones she loves.

I can't wait to see what will happen in book 2 of the Cornerstone series thankfully that will be my next book.
