“Dear Emily” is the first book in the “Forever Family” series.
This book is not suitable for young readers. It is intended for mature adults only (18+). It contains strong language, adult/sexual situations, non-consensual sex and some violence.

The story is told in dual POV it also goes from present to past which really can get confusing.
We start with Carly and Kyle receiving a life changing phone call. During this call they are told that they have been chosen by a birth mother to adopt her baby. Right away we are taken back to Carly's past, at college, where we find out that one night of partying and fun with friends turns into one of the most traumatic nights of her life and also happens to be the reason she cannot conceive her own children.
Tabitha has gone from bad to worst almost since the day she was born and being abandoned by her own mother. Then looses the only mother figure she had which left her going from foster home to foster home. She finally finds the courage to run away and only ends up in an abusive relationship in which she experiences her first real loss. Tabitha escapes this relationship and finds herself settled in Philadelphia where she meets Alex. Tabitha thought Alex was everything she wanted however one mistake leaves Tabitha feeling once again alone and pregnant with no one but her best friend Seth, a potential father who is not ready to be a father, to pick up the pieces of her broken heart.
The last 20% of the books was the most exciting part for me I was just not sure which way the story would go I wanted both mothers to have a happy ending but this was just not possible, since there was only one baby. I was on the edge of my seat during the last few pages and the end is what made me give this book the 4 stars.
My curiosity has been piqued I cannot wait to find out what is in store for Tabitha, Alex, Emily. I most definitely hope to see more of Carly and Kyle.

Let me start off by saying that my emotions are all mixed up about this book, I know for sure I did not hate it but I did not immediately absolutely love it either!
