Blog Tour: What's Left of Me by Amanda Maxlyn

Life works in mysterious ways.

Four years ago I became known as the girl with cancer.
I refuse to cry.
And I refuse to give in.
A relationship with a man is the last thing I’m looking for right now, but one night with Parker changes everything. He is persistent, and he knows what he wants. Me.
He doesn’t treat me like I’m fragile.
But he doesn’t know, and I’m not ready to tell him.
What if it changes everything?
Tragedy found me when I was seventeen.
Love found me when I was twenty-one.
My name is Aundrea McCall, and this is my journey.

Our Review
5 Stars

Wow! I am an emotional wreck after reading What’s Left of Me. I knew from the start that it would be a tear jerker but Amanda Maxlyn has taken it to another level. Don’t be discouraged, not all of it is heart break and tears it has its fun times and sexy steamy scenes...thanks to Parker Jackson. Now step aside ladies I am claiming Parker as MINE!!!

Aundrea is diagnosed with cancer for the second time. Since her current treatment is not showing significant change she is advised by her doctor to take on a trial study. Unfortunately this trial is not close to home. She is forced by her parents to move in with her sister Genna, leaving behind all her friends and family.

When her friend Jean visits they decide to have a girl’s night out, have fun and let loose. This leads to her next move when she agrees to a one night stand with the most handsome man she has ever met, Parker Jackson. She is not looking for anything permanent and doesn’t do relationships so she tries sneaking out the next day, hoping to never see him again.  What Aundrea didn’t count on was that Parker just happens to be her brother in law’s new business partner.

Aundrea tries to push Parker away but he is persistent. She agrees to be friends and nothing more. She decides not to tell him she has cancer.  She wants him to continue seeing her for her, not to treat her like she is fragile or feel sorry for her. The closer they get the more she struggles to keep her secret. She is afraid that once he finds out he will walk away from her.

Overall this book is a great read. Now make sure to have some tissues on hand since you will need them, especially during the epilogue. Amanda I have to ask, why??? Why would you do this us, I was so mad during the epilogue that if I didn't love my kindle so much I would have probably thrown it against the wall. But not mad enough to give it a low rating. Your debut novel is amazing and I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us on your next book.

About Amanda:

I am the mother of two little boys, married to the love of my life, and living in one of the smallest towns in Minnesota. When I’m not chasing or cleaning up after my boys (yes, all three), I can be found writing or snuggled up with my kindle, a glass of wine, and spending time with my fictional friends and family.
