Our Review

So far this is the first Vi Keeland book that I read and will not be my last.  To be honest the first thing that got my attention was the cover, WOW! But once I picked up this book I was not able to put it down until I finished it. I just found my new book boyfriend. I am claiming Nico as Mine.

Elle is a lawyer and is dedicated to her work. She lives a routine life and finds herself stuck in a friend with benefits relationship with her best friend from college, William Harper. The once a week booty call and movie night is no longer fulfilling her needs. Everything changes when William asks her for a consult for his new client, Nico. When Elle walks in to the conference room and meets Nico she immediately feels the attraction and chemistry between them. After this meeting nothing will ever be the same.

 

Nico “The Lady Killer” Hunter is a rugged, cocky alpha-male, tattooed MMA fighter. He has spent almost two years of fighting his own demons over a situation that was out of his control. That is until he meets Elle. The day after meeting Elle he returns to her office with his flirting ways and charm on full force and you could definitely feel the sexual tension building. During their first date he makes it clear that he wants her, but won’t make a move until she is clear of William. 

Eventually Nico will have to face his demons when he decides to once again enter the ring. This brings back the guilt he has been trying to overcome. He becomes emotionally detached and pushes Elle away. In order for Elle to help him overcome his guilt she decides to share her darkest secrets with him. Nico and Elle are two troubled souls that within each other they find a way to overcome their past.

If you are looking for a great love story with steamy sex scenes this is the book for you. I enjoyed reading the alternate POV which only made Nico that more desirable. I am looking forward to what Vi Keeland has in store for the next installment with Vince & Liv’s story.
